Laundry Detergent Pods

Laundry detergent pods are usually made of the PVA water soluble film and the highly concentrated detergent in side the pods.

Water-soluble PVA/PVOH films are best known as the material that encapsulates laundry detergents that are increasingly popular with consumers. Each capsule contains a pre-measured dose of laundry detergent. They also enable better cleaning and can reduce shipping costs and transportation emissions, as they use more concentrated detergent ingredients.

The detergent in the pods are highly concentrated. Liquid detergent in bottles are usually at 15-25% active ,but the pods are at 65-85%. It contains cleaning agent, solvents, enzymes, soften agents, fragrances. These ingredients work together to make the washing process much easier.

What are the ingredients ?

1. Solvents

The solvents are used to dissolve the surfactants and other ingredients, make them to be a uniform solution.

2. Surfactants

Surfactants are substances that create self-assembled molecular clusters called micelles in a solution (water or oil phase) and adsorb to the interface between a solution and a different phase (gases/solids).

3. Polymer

Help keeping dissolved soil stable in the wash water, preventing its re-deposition on textiles. They also help ensuring anti-greying. Help maintain the rise of foam to avoid high foaming or water spilling from the washing machine, if an excessive dosage of detergent is used.

4. Enzymes

The five classes of enzymes found in laundry detergent include proteases, amylases, lipases, cellulases, and mannanases. They break down proteins (e.g. in blood and egg stains), starch, fats, cellulose (e.g. in vegetable puree), and mannans (e.g. in bean gum stains) respectively.

5. Fragrance

Fragrances give the pods a pleasant and long-lasting scent, enhancing your laundry experience. They can cheer us up, calm us down or inspire us. Pods scents can be a wide-range of fragrances, unscented, and fragrances specially formulated to fight odors to meet your preferance.

6. Colorants

Colorants are designed to make the detergents gets different and match the feel of the fragrance expressed from the product.
