TÜRKİYE DISHWASHER POD PROJECT · MOHER KİMYA

From Detergent Factory to Dishwasher Pod Production in Türkiye

MOHER Kimya already had detergent manufacturing, brands, factory resources and market channels. What it did not yet have was an integrated system for developing and producing powder–liquid dishwasher pods.

This case shows how MOHER and Unimasses connected product direction, formulation, pod structure, PVA film, equipment, factory engineering, training and production launch to build that new category capability.

WHAT “ZERO TO ONE” MEANS

A New Manufacturing Category Inside an Existing Detergent Business

From Detergent Factory to Dishwasher Pod Production in Türkiye

This was not a greenfield detergent factory. MOHER already possessed many resources required for commercial success. The zero-to-one step was establishing the missing pod-specific product and manufacturing system.

MOHER’s Existing Foundation

  • Detergent manufacturing experience since 2001
  • Production facilities in Kayseri
  • Powder and liquid detergent operations
  • Internal technical and production personnel
  • Established brands including HES, Mio and Not
  • Domestic and international commercial channels
  • Capital, factory resources and project ownership

The Missing Pod-Specific Capability

  • Dishwasher pod product route and chamber architecture
  • Concentrated powder–liquid formulation integration
  • PVA/PVOH film selection and compatibility control
  • Powder and liquid dosing technology
  • Pod forming, filling and sealing equipment
  • Humidity, conditioning and storage requirements
  • Pod-specific operating and quality methods

THE ENGINEERING CHALLENGE

A Dishwasher Pod Is a Connected Manufacturing System

Powder–liquid dishwasher pods place chemically different materials inside one water-soluble package. Product performance and production stability depend on several systems working together.

01

Formula and Function Allocation

Powder and liquid functions must be allocated to suitable chambers according to compatibility, stability, dosing and the intended cleaning result.

02

PVA Film and Pod Structure

Film grade, geometry, stretch, sealing and storage behavior must match alkaline powders, concentrated liquids and the target product shape.

03

Forming and Multi-Material Dosing

The machine, mold and dosing stations must place powder and liquids accurately while maintaining separation and seal quality.

04

Environment and Process Control

Humidity, material preparation, exposure time, conditioning, inspection and packaging affect flowability, film behavior and product stability.

THE ZERO-TO-ONE PROJECT ROUTE

Seven Defined Steps from Requirement to Production Launch

The project was organized around concrete decisions and physical outputs rather than an open-ended consulting promise.

Construction of the controlled production area for the MOHER dishwasher pod project

From Detergent Factory to Dishwasher Pod Production in Türkiye

Step 01

Project Definition

Review MOHER’s existing manufacturing base, target market, intended product, factory resources and internal project team. Output: project brief and responsibility map.

Step 01

Step 02

Product Route Selection

Define the powder–liquid architecture, consumer proposition, target performance, dosage, structure and preliminary manufacturing route.

Step 03

Formula and Product Development

Connect powder and liquid functions with chamber allocation, product geometry, PVA film and agreed laboratory validation.

Step 03

Step 04

Equipment and Factory Engineering

Translate the product into forming, molds, powder and liquid dosing, utilities, production environment, material flow and future expansion considerations.

Step 05

Technical Training

Introduce the customer team to film handling, equipment operation, process control, pod-specific quality points and troubleshooting logic.

Step 05

Step 06

Installation and Trial Production

Support mechanical installation, parameter adjustment, initial product runs, defect review and the transition toward repeatable operation.

Step 07

Market Launch and Continued Supply

Connect the launched product with qualified critical materials, project-specific technical support and later product or production upgrades.

Step 07

Technical training and laboratory equipment at MOHER Kimya in Kayseri

THE PEOPLE GATE

Technology Had to Become Internal Operating Capability

MOHER’s technical staff needed to understand more than machine buttons. They needed a working relationship among materials, film, mold, dosing, sealing, environment and product defects.

The training scope connected equipment operation with pod-specific process reasoning, including film handling, parameter control, initial quality checks and troubleshooting methods.

PROJECT OUTCOME

A Local Product, a Working Line and an Internal Team

The public outcome is not simply the delivery of a machine. MOHER moved from conventional detergent manufacturing into a new product category with a physical dishwasher pod product, dedicated production resources and a team introduced to the pod-specific operating system.

The HES dishwasher capsule was subsequently presented as a market-facing product, connecting technical implementation with MOHER’s existing brand and channels.

Capability Created Through the Project

  • Defined powder–liquid product route
  • Pod-specific development workflow
  • Dedicated manufacturing environment
  • Integrated production equipment
  • Internal technical and operating knowledge
  • Qualified critical supply route
  • Trial-production and launch experience
  • Foundation for future product upgrades

Customer Readiness Matters

Existing factory resources, a capable team, brands, channels and investment capacity made the transition commercially and operationally realistic.

The Product Route Comes First

Consumer positioning and the intended product determine formulation, structure, film, equipment, factory conditions and critical suppliers.

Continuity Comes from the System

Long-term value is supported by qualified film and materials, molds, new products and future process upgrades—not unlimited consulting.
